In Bulgaria the milk thistle is still called "Virgin Mary's gift". And it should be noted that such respectful attitude is completely justified!
As a whole, the oil has immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antifibrous and antineoplastic action (especially in case of urinary bladder cancer and prostate carcinoma). It is a product of the increased biological activity, irreplaceable higher fatty acids, flavonoids, vitamins (A, B, Е, K, P, D), antioxidants, carotinoids.

In this oil there is a special component "silibinin" which strengthens and recycles cells of a liver. The second important component is "silimarin" which increases production of bile. Bile decomposes fats. In blood bile transforms excess cholesterol into bilious acids. The more cholesterol is transformed into bilious acids, the easier it is on our vessels. When cholestasis in a liver takes place, the hypertension and the apoplectic stroke are provoked.
The more often we stimulate bile outputs (bilious ways are cleaned), the better it is not only for digestion, but also for hematopoietic system. Milk thistle oil influences tissues which all require it most. The oil promotes renewal of the damaged tissues and recovers their ability to normal functioning.
